Dirk Bikkembergs born on January 2, 1959 is a Belgium based fashion designer. He was born in the war torn Cologne, Germany and was a star ever since childhood. His father was in the Belgium Army and so became a reason for him to watch the distant world more closely. He drew his inspiration from different people, races and customs. His younger years were mostly spent in Diepenbeek, Limburg, Belgium. Dirk always had an inclination toward creativity and that took him to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium.
1996 became the year when Bikkembergs label was introduced to the globe, which was meant to lay emphasis on football dresses. A fun fact for the readers, Dirk Bikkembergs was the first ever designer to conduct a fashion show in a soccer stadium. Now these terms would often be used for fabric technology and styling. Internazionale 1908 in Milan, Italy, in 2004 la Kore Oscar dellaModa honoured him as the best foreign fashion designer, in 2005 he was asked to attend Barcelona Fashion Week as their Guest of Honor for a fashion show that happened to take place in the Camp Nou Stadium, the first professional soccer boot designed by Dirk Bikkembergs was launched in the year 2006, 2007 was lucky enough for the man who received not one but two awards for best e-commerce website, Bikkembergs Underwear collection was launched at PittiUomo on June 20th 2007, the following year that is 2008, the advanced professional soccer boot namely, Tirosegno was launched, 2008 witnessed the opening of Bikkembergs Iberia Showroom in Barcelona, Spain and the following year that is 2009 a flagship store was opened in Milan, Italy.
